There is a new trend taking off in BlackBerry App World. Artist specific music apps. There are not a lot of them, but I am hoping that this is a trend that will continue to grow. All of our regular readers at BlackBerryStuff.invioe.com know that I am always looking for new and free apps in BlackBerry App World. Well, today, I found a few for all of our music fans.
There are several great music apps available, (ie: Pandora, 7 Digital Music Store, iHeart Radio, and Slacker, to name just a few.) With these new apps, you can keep up with your favorite music artists. Most of the apps have their latest news, music, clips of videos, interviews, tour info, and a lot more.
Who are these artists? Well, I’ll tell ya! Keep in mind, most of these apps require BlackBerry OS 6, and a device that has wi-fi.
If you are a regular here @ BlackBerryStuff.invioe.com, then you know that most of my favorite apps are the Free ones. Don’t get me wrong, there are some awesome apps out there that are worth every dime that we pay for them, and then some, but ya just can’t beat free! So, let’s take a look at some of my favorite free apps in BlackBerry App World!
It has been going around for a while now, but it’s finally HERE! Themes are now available from BlackBerry App World! I took a quick cruise through them this morning & it’s looking pretty good. Some are free & some are now, as with most things in Blackberry App World, and some are only Free for a “limited time”. If you have been waiting on the themes section to launch, ya best get over there, you might be able to snatch a theme that you have been wanting for free, from what I am guessing is a “promotional time period”.
The Backgrounds App for Blackberry by: Stylem Media, gives you over 2000+ unique designs for your home screen of your BlackBerry. Backgrounds is a Free app from Blackberry App World, & requires 29KB of memory. ( Doesn’t seem to be a “Memory Hog” at all.)

WooHoo! I am totally thrilled with the announcement that BlackBerry App World will be offering carrier billing in 2010! This was my only complaint with BB App World. I am not a fan of PayPal & I have made no secret of that fact. The truth of the matter is that there are many people, like myself, that have had experiences with PayPal, that it would be an understatement to say that we were less than satisfied with the service in one way or another. So when I read the announcement that BlackBerry App World will be offering Carrier Billing in 2010, I was very excited! I guess that we will just have to wait & see, but it seems to be on the list of changes for 2010.
With the winter weather fast approaching (and it’s already here, in a lot of places), It’s good to be prepared for emergency situations & this app can help with that. ICE – Emergency App by The Jared Company….

BlackBerry App World was updated yesterday. If you haven’t grabbed your copy yet , you can get it HERE! I don’t have any specifics on what features were updated yet, but I can say that it seems much speedier.
*** UPDATE**** We found out which features were improved with the update and they are as follows: Enhanced Search, Application Archiving, and Memory Indicator. That’s all we have for now, I’ll let ya know if we can come up with any more info.

This is another one that has been all over the web today. It looks like the good folks over @ Tivo have teamed up with our favorite smartphone maker, RIM, to deliver Tivo to your BlackBerry Devices.
Well, if you haven’t, you may want to take a look at it! Nobex Radio Companion, has recently hit a major mile stone with its One Millionth Download, & they offer both a Free & a Paid version of their service.
With the Free version, you can listen to the radio stations in your country for FREE..( which is pretty cool by it’s self). The paid version, which is $19.99 by the way, allows you access to over 3,000 radio stations from around the World! The music is brought to your BlackBerry by Streaming, which is achieved by either Wi-Fi, or through your carrier’s network.
In this day & age, it is important to stay updated on the current issues & this is a perfect way to do it without all of the time consuming research that comes along with keeping current on the issues that are important to you! With every Bill that is being Voted on, there are tabs beneath it, so that you can research the Bill right from your BlackBerry.
