I’m excited about this one, kids! As a Curve owner / user, this one is pretty cool! The BlackBerry Curve 8530 has had a fair bit of press, & rightly so. The Curve is normally not recognized as a “Big Boy Device or a Power Users Device”, but I disagree with this theory. I am in no way trying to take anything away from any of RIM’s other devices. I Love Them All. I just think that the Curve is a bit understated & under appreciated by the so called “Power Users”.
* Did Your BlackBerry Make the 5.0 OS Update List?
RIM has released a list of the BlackBerry devices that will be able to be upgraded to the 5.0 OS. So, did your BlackBerry make the cut? Let’s find out. The devices that were listed are the Tour 9630′s, Curve 8330′s, Storm 9500′s, Bold 9000′s, Curve 8900′s, Curve 8350i’s, and the Pearl Flip 8200 series.
The amount of memory on the device, is what was the deciding factor when it comes down to which devices can support the 5.0 OS. In order for the device to support the 5.0 OS, it must have more than 64MB of memory. So, to those of you who have the memory to support the OS, Congratts & Enjoy!
* All Kinds of BlackBerry Goodies “On Deck” for this Week !
We have had a few “tech issues” this week, so I’m a bit behind on my BlackBerry projects, however… They are still on the way!
As we speak, I am in the process of reviewing Twitter Apps / Clients, for our ~ beloved Blackberry’s ~ , I also have a few special App reviews up my sleeve & we still have the codes that we promised you … you will have them by the weekend.
Still haven’t made your mind up, ” Should I buy a Tour or Not? Well, BlackBerry 101 for the BlackBerry Tour 9630 may help you with that decision. Have you already bought your BlackBerry Tour & just want to learn as much as humanly possible about it, then this is for you, too!
* The BlackBerry Storm, caught my attention first, when I was shopping for a new Blackberry because , well, “It’s a Storm”. The touch screen capability intrigued me, among other things that I will get in to in a bit. Now, I took some time to get familiar with this device and its technology & both are AMAZING! One of the things that surprised me, was the size and feel of the device. It is a tad thinner & a tad longer than the Curve 8330, which is really cool… ( the hardest thing that I had to adjust to with my 8330 was its width. Coming from the Palm Centro, it was a fair bit wider than what I was use to , but now, that is one of my favorite features – the expanse of the keyboard).
* Since I purchased my BlackBerry Curve, I have quickly become addicted. There are a ton of awesome web sites dedicated to BB Device & all that comes with it, & I frequent most of them daily. My favorite by far, is CrackBerry.com .
Not only is the site informative, it is extremely COOL! It has a “Community Section”, where you can join & meet / mingle with other BlackBerry addicts.
