If you tried the update via OTA, and didn’t have such good luck, I suggest using the App Loader in the BlackBerry Desktop  Manager. So far, I really have not noticed any difference in function with the OS update, aside from the fact that I had to reinstall most of my 3rd party apps….lol.  The biggest difference that I have noticed is the fact that the update seemed to clean up the device memory. I actually have more available memory now, then I did before the install. ( However, that does make me wonder what was removed from the device to make such a difference in available memory.)  Before the OS update, I had right around 33,000,000 Bytes & now I have over 46,000,000….hmmm. The other difference is an improvement to the email application. Emails are much easier to read with the HTML update.

Hey there, all of you “Die Hard Curve 8330 Owners”! I received an email, about an hour ago informing me of the New OS Update for the BlackBerry Curve 8300 series. The update will give you the 4.5.0.186 version.  If you want the update for your device, simply go to the “Tools Menu”, click Advanced Options, then scroll down to “Wireless Updates”, then follow the prompts. You can also access the update through the automatic update in BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
I’m in the process of updating my 8330 now, so I’ll let you know what we wind up with.
